As Beattie Outdoor Productions traveled the world in search of the best fly fishing, they stumbled upon an often overlooked portion of the United States for steelhead fishing: Ohio. The state features not the famed Pacific northwest steelhead, but the lake run species that travel out of lakes and into streams to spawn.

This lake run species has garnered the respect of two young anglers who have bonded over their admiration of the fish as well as the harsh conditions in which they find solace. Away from the crowd they have found their one special river and have bonded as friends because of this fish.
