Okay, so you probably already know how to start a fire. It’s not that hard—usually. Then sometimes it can be very, very difficult. Here are five tips from CrazyRussianHacker that may make your life easier outdoors.

As the video shows, magnesium fire starters can be incredibly useful, but they are not necessary to take advantage of these naturally flammable materials. If we were in an actual survival situation, we would probably save the flare for signaling though.
