Crazy Video: Trophy Pike Caught on a Lure You Have to See to Believe

And the Academy Award for “Best Motion Video of the Year — Fishing” goes to . . . host Aaron Wiebe and Uncut Angling for the video you’re about to watch.
It’s a comedy — Wiebe is hilarious, taunting his Dad, opening long-lost packages in the boat, and wondering aloud how he wasted his day when he finally starts fishing at 2 p.m.
It’s a thriller — Wiebe yells, “No, no, no, no, no!” after a trophy pike thrashes at the surface, and follows it up by chanting “please stay hooked” eight times during the ensuing battle.
It’s an action drama — you see a pike literally jump out of the water in pursuit of the bait, plus Wiebe does indeed catch an official Manitoba Master Angler pike on Manitoba’s Clear Lake.
It’s also one of the most creative fishing videos you’ll ever see. Wiebe starts the day without a single lure in the boat, then proceeds to open packages he’s received in the mail. The last package he opens is a silver YouTube play button he received in honor of him topping 100,000 YouTube subscribers for his Uncut Angling YouTube channel.
Wiebe, of course, proceeds to drill holes in the play button and transforms it into the very fishing lure he uses to catch the giant pike.
Get the popcorn. You gotta see this.
