Great Lakes Finesse Introduces it’s “Hanging Head” Jig Head

One of the benefits of using a drop-shot rig when bass fishing is the hook holds the bait horizontally which is a more natural presentation. The same presentation is now available for bass fishermen without the need to use a drop-shot rig. Finesse fishing tackle maker, Great Lakes Finnesse has just introduced its latest innovation in the jig head category: the Hanging Head.
The Hanging Head features a fine wire 1/0 Gamakatsu hook and wire bait keeper, it’s designed to perfectly match the GLF Drop Minnow. This jig head allows anglers to catch deep fish on a horizontal presentation. It’s perfectly balanced to present any soft bait horizontally in the water column even when dropping it down or swinging it over fish.
The custom lifelike 3D eyes, head design, and pushed-back eye placement allow it to suspend perfectly horizontal. This head excels when hanging a minnow still with lighter action rods and light line. The folks at Great Lakes Finesse say will generate aggressive strikes while setting itself in the toughest part of any fish’s mouth.
“Great Lakes Finesse is thrilled to introduce the Hanging Head, a product we needed badly to effectively hang the Drop Minnow with light line and longer light action rods” remarked Dan Miguel, Global Brand Manager at Great Lakes Finesse. “We found as we went down to 3- to 6-pound-test line needed to fool the most pressured and stubborn fish to bite when setting the hook, we really struggled with hook penetration using jig heads with normal thicker gauge hooks. We were losing way too many fish. The Hanging Head is the solution to this problem.”
The official release date of the Hanging Head is March 22 when it will be unveiled at the Bassmaster Classic, but you can already find it at reputable retailers and Lurenet.com.
The Hanging Head comes in 1/4- and 5/16-ounce sizes with three different head colors. MSRP: $6.99 for a two-pack.
