UPDATE: Remember those jerks that were dragging a shark behind the boat, and it was somehow strangely connected to MTV’s new reality show “Siesta Key?”
Well, this story just keeps going, and now a star from the new reality series is being dragged into this mess himself . . .
Now, the Bradenton Herald is reporting that Florida Fish and Wildlife officials have obtained and are investigating a new video showing a star from MTV’s new reality show shooting a hammerhead shark off the side of a boat. According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission rules, it is illegal to shoot sharks anywhere in Florida waters.
You can view the video below:
The newspaper says the man shooting the shark in the video appears to be Alex Kompothecras, who you know from a previous article where he said, “I had absolutely nothing to do with the shark video,” he reportedly wrote in a post on Instagram that has since been deleted. “Yes he’s a friend of mine, but no I don’t agree with what he did. Check your facts before you go posting on my page. Thanks.”
In all fairness, Alex, it wouldn’t hurt to check your video library before posting passive aggressive messages either. Especially when there’s video of you ILLEGALLY harassing/shooting sharks and other wildlife on there.
Kompothecras has apologized for his behavior in an interview with People, and has since deleted the video from his social media accounts. He said in the interview with People, that he “felt horrible and would not make those decisions again.”
