Freedom Munitions & Parent Company File for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
OutdoorHub Reporters 06.11.18
Freedom Munitions, maker of new and remanufactured ammunition, has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
In a surprising turn of events, OutdoorHub has just learned that Idaho based Freedom Munitions appears to be traveling down a similar path as other brands, such as Remington, have this year. Bankruptcy filings have been submitted on June 8th, 2018 for Howell Munitions & Technology and multiple companies under the HMT umbrella. The firearm industry has had a rocky road over the past two years, with the daily threats of gun control under President Obama having slowed under the Trump Presidency and a Republican held house.
The HMT umbrella covers a number of companies, all playing a different role in the manufacturing and sales process of their ammunition.
As they put it:
“Howell Munitions & Technology specializes in the development of ammunition, components, loading machinery and Original Equipment Manufacturer production. Using state of the art processes developed in Lewiston, Idaho, Howell Munitions & Technology and its brands achieve success by a commitment to quality, personalized service and a dedication that is unmatched in the shooting industry.“
The following companies, all owned by HMT, have submitted separate Chapter 11 filings in the State of Nevada:
HOWELL MUNITIONS & TECHNOLOGY, INC.
FREEDOM MUNITIONS, LLC
