Deer Zoomies: Wildlife Officials Baffled as Deer Busts a Move at Yellowstone National Park

Wildlife officials at Yellowstone National Park are still scratching their heads after seeing video of a dancing deer with an apparent case of deer zoomies.

Trail cameras are excellent tools for developing patterns in animal’s daytime/nighttime movements, and capturing wildlife behavior in an undisturbed setting. But part of the deal with hanging cameras in random corners of the woods is capturing perplexing behavior like this from time to time.

“We can’t explain the deer’s behavior in this video,” the park said in a Facebook post. “But it allows us to be curious and potentially pursue the question, ‘Why is this deer behaving that way?”
